Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) is an American actress, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford was a part of two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Also, she has been on Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original part of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
